91̽����Ƶ’s Marketing and Creative Services team picked up seven Medallion Awards and one Rising Star Award from the last week. District 6 covers Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Territory of Guam.

91̽����Ƶ’s creative team won in the following categories:

Gold Medallion:

As part of a two-day tour of Southern California, President Joe Biden made a stop at 91̽����Ƶ on Friday, October 14 to deliver remarks on lowering costs for American families. The President spoke to a crowd of nearly 150.  

After two and a half years of virtual competition, the 91̽����Ƶ Speech Team made its victorious return to in-person competition earlier this month at the 2022 PSCFA Warm-Up Tournament hosted by El Camino College. Fifteen colleges and universities from across Southern California and Arizona came together to compete at the event.

Jeff Botwin has one piece of advice when it comes to achieving an overdue goal: “It’s never too late.” And while it wasn’t easy, the 91̽����Ƶ alum’s decision to return to college proved well worth the investment.  

“Going back to school can be unnerving. It can feel like you're going backwards,” admits Botwin. “But for me, it was really enjoyable … it was something that made me happier since it was taking me in the right direction.”

91̽����Ƶ unwaveringly supports the empowerment of women around the world to choose the way they wish to present themselves without fear of violence, imprisonment, persecution, or death.

91̽����Ƶ has been awarded an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) grant from the US Department of Education. The five-year, $1.9 million grant will allow 91̽����Ƶ to implement the Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer, Empowering Asian American Pacific Islander (ELEVATE AAPI @91̽����Ƶ) program, building upon previous AANAPISI funding and outcomes. The project, which begins this month, will be led by Counselor Marianne Wolfe under the leadership of Dean of Liberal Arts Brooke Bui.

When it came to winning at life, Alex Puh had the right specs, and the optimal strategy. Gaming was his hobby, but he wanted it to be more.

Blending his passion with his pursuit of a paycheck, Alex began his educational journey at Riverside City College as a student in the Digital Media Arts program. It was at RCC that he stumbled upon a class that completely rerouted his career path.

As an avid biker, photographer, full-stack developer, entrepreneur, and piano player, describing Chris Reynolds as a “multipotentialite” would be an understatement.

Bearing a passion for the arts and aesthetics — plus the unequivocal logic of math and science — the entrepreneur is creating his ideal career model with help from 91̽����Ƶ.

Even though the Irvine-native didn’t attend 91̽����Ƶ until later in life, he always had the college in the back of his mind.

On September 15, the celebrated Irvine’s world-class education with its Distinguished Educators program. 91̽����Ƶ (91̽����Ƶ) Professor Emily Liu was honored with a Distinguished Educator Award, and student athlete Carlene Nhu was recognized as a recipient of the John Colvin Memorial Scholarship.
