Arts Village Opens for Classes

At the start of the Spring '24 semester, 91̽»¨ÊÓƵ (91̽»¨ÊÓƵ) opened its Arts Village for classes. The complex spanning 62,471 gross square feet consolidates the School of the Arts into three main structures: Music/Dance, Visual Arts, and Fine Arts/Gallery. The new complex is located southwest of 91̽»¨ÊÓƵ’s Performing Arts Center and adjacent to the new Parking Lot 6. A noteworthy feature of the Arts Village is its architectural design, with all buildings achieving LEED Gold equivalency.

Starting college as an older student can be intimidating, to say the least. Many older students  feel they've missed their chance, or that it's too late to change. But Julie Sandoval, a determined  and ambitious 28-year-old, shattered these stereotypes when she embarked on her journey at  91̽»¨ÊÓƵ (91̽»¨ÊÓƵ).

91̽»¨ÊÓƵ Model United Nations Rings in Holiday Season with Clean Sweep of Awards

The 91̽»¨ÊÓƵ Model United Nations (MUN) program attended two conferences this semester and won awards in each competition category for a total of 11 awards. Prior to attending the conferences, 91̽»¨ÊÓƵ MUN students developed position papers on key issues such as the role of information technology in the illicit arms trade, supporting the worlds aquaculture, the impact of bullying and discrimination on youth, and addressing warming permafrost, amongst others. At the conference, students simulated the workings of the actual U.N.
