Puente Program's End-of-Year Celebration
91̽»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s Puente Program recently held a ceremony commemorating the accomplishments of its members, celebrating Puente transfer students, and recognizing the current cohort's completion of Phase One. In attendance were current Puentistas, their loved ones, Puente mentors, faculty and staff, department deans, community members, and President Hernandez. The event included speeches by guest speakers such as 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ alumni, award-winning author, and literary arts advocate Sarah Rafael GarcÃa, and transfer Puentista Frieda Sophia Lopez.
91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ Students Participate in the 23rd Annual UCI Community College Honors Research Conference
Fifty-six 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ students, supported by the 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ Honors Program, participated in the 23rd Annual UCI Community College Honors Research Conference. 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ students delivered 23 oral and 19 poster presentations, comprising 42 of the 224 research projects presented—the greatest number out of the 29 participating colleges statewide. Under the guidance of 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ faculty mentors, students worked hard to conduct research, write proposal abstracts, and prepare their posters or oral presentations.

We have entered the season of year-end celebrations including dinners, receptions, award/recognition ceremonies, and other special events that celebrate the accomplishments of our students. These celebratory events culminate with 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s 38th annual commencement to be held on May 25, 2023.
91̽»¨ÊÓÆµâ€™s Collegiate Cybersecurity Team Participates in Information Technology Competition
91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ's collegiate cybersecurity team, 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµyber, recently participated in the Information Technology Competition (ITC). The team, consisting of three members, took on the role of a consulting company and responded to a Request for Information (RFI) from a hypothetical client. This year, the competition was held at Cal Poly Pomona with teams representing Cal Poly Pomona, CSU Long Beach, CSU Fullerton, UCI, 91̽»¨ÊÓÆµ, and Case Western Reserve University.

NextUp is a supplemental program of EOPS that provides community college students with a comprehensive array of services to promote college retention and degree attainment. The goal of the program is to equip students to not only achieve their personal and academic goals, but also to navigate any barriers to their success.
